هي المصرية فتحية حليم رزق زوجة كوامي نكروما، أول رئيس لجمهورية غانا،كانت من حي الزيتون، سليلة أسرة مصرية قبطية متوسطة،تعلمت في إحدى المدارس الفرنسية ، ثم أكملت فتحية تعليمها حتى نالت الشهادة الثانوية، عملت فى مجال التدريس ثم بالعمل الوظيفى فى قطاع البنوك.
فى تلك الفترة كانت كانت غانا الدولة الإفريقية تسعى من أجل نيل استقلالها بفضل حركة تحرير وطنية التى تزعمها الشاب كوامى نكروما، الذى أصبح فيما بعد أول رئيس لبلاده بعد تحريرها من السطوة البريطانية.
وكانت العلاقات الخارجية بين غانا ومصر وزعيمها آنذاك جمال عبدالناصر، لم تكن مرضية بالنسبة للزعيم كوامى نكروما الذى أراد توطيدها، طالبا أن يكون له زوجة مصرية. وبالفعل وفقا لمصادر متعددة، كان لصديق مصرى مقرب من نكروما وللقيادة السياسية فى مصر فكرة ترشيح فتحية رزق لتكون زوجة للزعيم نكروما ، ورواية أخري تقول أنه حينما زار الرئيس الغاني نكروما إحدى الكنائس في مصر، وهناك شاهد فتحية وانبهر بشخصيتها وجمالها وقرر على الفور الارتباط بها بعد أن تحدث معها وعرف اسمها وعنوانها .
تقدم نكروما في اليوم التالي لخطبة الفتاة المصرية، إلا أن طلبه قوبل بالرفض من جانب والدتها، التى كانت تخشي أن ترحل ابنتها عنها إلى بلاد بعيدة لم تكن الأم تعرف عنها الكثير، ولذلك حسمت الأمر تماما مع الرئيس الغاني معلنة له رفضها التام.
لكن الزعيم كوامى نكروما تفهم الأمر ولجاء الى واسطة الرئيس الراحل جمال عبدالناصر، الذي كان له دور حاسم فى التوسط لاقترانه بـفتحية رزق ، وكان له دور فى احتواء قلق الأم، وطمأنتها بتنظيم خط طيران مباشر وسفارة» وعد بأن يتم تأسيسهما فى غانا، حتى تتمكن الأم من زيارة الابنة البعيدة بشكل منتظم.
تم خطبت فتحية من نكروما فى أواخر ديسمبر عام 1957 في القاهرة، بينما كان الزفاف في العاصمة الغانية أكرا، وأصبحت هى سيدة غانا الأولى، وكللت هذا الزواج بإنجاب ثلاثة أبناء، هم: جمال، تيمنا بالرئيس جمال عبدالناصر، وسامية، وسيكو نكروما.
أصحبت السيدة فتحية نكروما قريبة لقلوب الشعب الغاني بسبب مساعدتها للفقراء ورعاية الأيتام في غانا، وعقب حدوث النكسة في عام 1967 قامت بالتبرع بكل مجوهراتها لصالح المجهود الحربي المصري.
توفيت السيدة فتحية رزق فى عام 2007، ورغم مرور سنوات على رحيلها وزوجها الزعيم كوامي نكروما، إلا أن الشعب الغاني مازال يتذكر فتحية نكروما، ويتحاكون عنهما دومًا، حيث صارت سيدة غانا الاولى فتحية نكروما جزءًا مهمًا من تاريخ غانا الحديث.
أصرت القيادة السياسية فى غانا على أن تدفن سيدة غانا الاولى بجوار زوجها نكروما، وهذا ما حدث تم تيسير عملية اجتماعها الأخير بزوجها بفضل خط الطيران وطاقم السفارة المصرى الذى كانت هى وراء وجودهما أول مرة.
